Start your homeschool day with prayer and Bible reading. Our virtue this month is Orderliness

Math

Objectives:
1. Assess previously learned skills.
2. Review fractions
3. Review equivalent fractions
4. Review comparing fractions

Start with 5 min of addition practice using Facts Practice-G or H (multiplication).

Please complete all the work assigned for home days, including workbook and practice exercises, as well as math facts practice. Please grade all work by first indicating which answers are incorrect and then giving your student an opportunity to correct his/her mistakes before offering assistance.

Reading  
Objectives:
1. Learn about the life during the Civil War.
2. Engage in discussion, sharing ideas, meaning, & information from the reading.

Spelling
Objective: spell multisyllable words ending in ss.


Writing
Objectives:
1. Write a polished final draft of "The Mule" including -ly dress-up, who/which clause and vocab words. 
2. Introduce the Story Sequence Chart
3. Create an Story Sequence Outline of a myth using the Story Sequence Chart
4. Brainstorm dress-ups and review vocabulary


Grammar
Objectives:
1. Identify and label prepositions and prepositional phrases.
2. Practice writing sentences containing a subject noun, verb, adjectives, adverbs, and a prepositional phrase.
Latin
1. Learn ten new Latin vocabulary words.
2. Learn the First-Declension Noun "Mensa" chart.
3. Know that Latin nouns contain Number, Gender and Case.
History
Objectives: 
1. Know that the United States still faced multiple problems after the Civil War.
2. Know that the 13th Amendment made slavery illegal in every state in the Union.
3. Identify factors which led to the Dominion of Canada in 1876.

Science
Objectives:
1. Identify characteristics of Order Lepidoptera: scale wings, proboscis, forewings, hindwings
2. Know that some butterflies migrate long distances
3. Continue to collect, study, and identify Texas insects.

Continue to add to your insect collection. You will need to have 10 different insects, all labeled with the Order,
name of insect, date, and location.
