4. Measure angles between 0 and 180 degrees with a protractor

5. Add and subtract angle measurements with compound angles

6. Measure and draw angles between 180 and 360 degrees


Spelling

Objectives:

1. Spell word endings of /awl/ spelled ought

2. Spell words with a followed by l.


Reading

Grammar

Objectives:

1. Identify and classify mixed sentence patterns.

2. Recognize and avoid using double negatives.

Writing

1. Create a fused KWO from two source texts
2. Brainstorm dress-ups and study vocabulary words
3. Write a RD paragraph using fused KWO
4. Edit & write polished FD with Unit 6 structure and style

History 

Objectives:

1. Become familiar with MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech
2. Write a personal "Dream" speech
3. Know that American soldiers fought against communist North Vietnam for 8 years in a controversial war.
4. Share Vietnam Era memories from interviews of people living during the Vietnam War.

Science
Objectives:
1. Experiment with egg shell strength
2. Observe a growing chick embryo through candling
3. Know why birds sing and identify several bird calls.

Students will be making a field guide of Texas birds using pictures from the Texas Parks & Wildlife publication.  For coloring accuracy, search birds here:  https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/


Memory Work:  Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.

Poetry:  Our  fourth quarter poem is 'The Dentist and the Crocodile". Additional copies here.

Geography:  We are beginning our study Scandinavia this week.  The song and map can be found here on the main blog curricula/geography page. Students will be responsible for labeling countries on a map. A word bank is provided.

History: We are continuing our memorization of the US Presidents. There are several YouTube video songs to help

with this. Here are two: US Presidents to "America" and US PresidentsFor assessment, students will write or sing all the presidents' first and last names. Due 5/6/21

4. Interview someone who recalls the Vietnam War and share some of their memories with classmates.

Science
