Discipleship:
Objective:  Experience the joy of the Lord which comes from spending time in His presence.  Start your homeschool day with
prayer and Bible reading.  Our Character Virtue of the month is Courage. kidsofintegrity.com has some excellent resources to
help foster this virtue in your child.  Courage

     2. Round a decimal to the nearest tenth.
     3. Review previously learned skills, reteaching where necessary.
     4. Assess skills.
     5. Add tenths or hundredths.

On Tuesday use Review A to assess your student's understanding of skills learned.  There's no need to do every problem if your student understands the concepts well. You may only need to do a couple problems of some skills, and all the problems of others, depending on your student's needs.  However, I would recommend everyone do #9 and all of the word problems on page 30, to practice these skills. Work through Mental Math 3 this week.  We will soon start adding/subtracting/multiplying and dividing decimals, so keep honing those math facts!

Spelling
Objective:
    1. Learn how to make the plural form of words ending in o.

We are starting our next book, The Good Master this week.  Please complete the assigned reading and bring your book to class each day.

Please bring your book to class each day.

Grammar

1. Know how to make both singular and plural nouns possessive
2. Assess skills

Science:
Objectives:
1. Know that sound travels in mechanical waves.
2. Know that sound waves travel at different speeds in different substances.
3. Know that sound cannot travel in a vacuum.

Activity 1: Can sound travel through a liquid?
Click together two stones, two blocks, or two pot lids.  Listen to the sound. Then submerge them in a basin of water or
bathtub, and listen to the sound they make under water.  Record your results.
Activity 2: Can sound travel through a solid?
Hold one end of a 12-inch ruler 1 inch from your ear and scratch on the far end of the ruler.  Note how loud
the sound is. Then move the ruler 13 inches away from your ear and scratch on the near end, so that you are making
noise at the same distance from your ear as before.  Compare the sound you hear and record your results.

Memory Work:  Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.
Science Memory Work: Sound Unit
Some sound is loud
Some sound is soft
