Math:   Continue doing a 5 min warm-up with a Math fact sheet of your choice and 5 min of Mental Math.   Work through MM 13 this week.  This week we will:
  • Solve word problems involving multiplication of decimal numbers
  • Practice multiplying decimal numbers
  • Divide a number of up to two decimal places by a 1 digit number

Composition:
We will continue to practice:
  • using multiple references to writing a report
  • taking notes on a specific topic from each reference 
  • fusing outlines and writing a summary from the fused outline
Reading: Students should be reading a minimum of 40 minutes per day.  After each chapter students should narrate the passage to parents. Parents should then ask questions about the meaning of the passage and engage in Socratic discussion with their student.

Grammar:
Spelling: Learn the Doubling Rule for adding vowel suffixes.
Latin:
Listen to Latin chants daily to aid in memorization.
History
Science  

Memory Work:  Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.

1. Multiply numbers to 1-decimal place by a 1-digit whole number.
2. Solve word problems involving multiplication of decimal numbers.
3. Practice adding and subtracting decimal numbers. 
4. Multiply numbers to 2-decimal places by a 1-digit whole number.
Composition:
We're starting Unit 6 this week, where students will learn to write a report by summarizing multiple source texts and then fusing the notes into one outline.  We are also adding the prepositional opener to our stylistic techniques.
Objectives for Unit 6: 
  • use multiple references in writing a report
  • take notes on a specific topic from each reference
  • fuse and write a summary from the fused outline

Objectives: 1.Know that a Linking Verb connects a word in the predicate to the subject of a sentence.
