NOTE: Continue working on memorizing multiplication facts!  Time spent memorizing these facts will greatly reduce homework time and help your student be successful in upcoming multiplication and long division lessons. Make multiplication charts, do flashcards, worksheets, play math fact games, or whatever works to master these facts. 

Objectives:
1. Multiply up to a four-digit number by a one-digit number.
2. Multiply a two-digit number by a two-digit multiple of 10.

Spelling
Objective:  Spell multi-syllable words ending in ss.

Reading  

Review each chapter's vocabulary prior to reading.

Objectives:
1. Learn about life during the Civil War.
2. Engage in discussion, sharing ideas, meaning, & information from the reading.

Writing
Objectives:

1. Introduce the Story Sequence Chart
2. Create a Story Sequence Outline of a myth using the Story Sequence Chart
3. Brainstorm dress-ups and review vocabulary
4. Write the first paragraph of a 3 paragraph myth introducing the characters and setting
5. Write the second paragraph of a myth describing the conflict or problem
6. Incorporate a who/which clause into paragraphs


Grammar
Objectives: 
1. Identify and label prepositions and prepositional phrases.

2. Practice writing sentences containing a subject noun, verb, adjectives, adverbs, and a prepositional phrase.


Latin
Objective: Learn Latin 1st Conjugation Verbs

History

Answer the following questions orally:

1. What three forms of government had France had by the year 1871?

2. What were two things Charles X did to anger his people?

3. What kind of country did France become after Charles X fled?

4. Why was Louis-Philippe called the "Citizen King"?

5. Why did his enemies plan a huge gathering in Paris?

6. What happened after Louis-Philippe fled?

Objectives:  
1. Know that the United States still faced multiple problems after the Civil War.
2. Know that the 13th Amendment made slavery illegal in every state in the Union.
3. Identify factors that led to the Dominion of Canada in 1876.
4. Identify regime changes in France during the 1800s.

Science
Objectives:
1. Understand complete and incomplete metamorphosis in insects.
2. Identify insect defenses.
