*Note: We will be using the writing prompt from the IEW writing contest for students. (See https://iew.com/iew-writing-contest-2021 for details.) Participation in the contest is voluntary, however, I do hope all students will enter! Regardless if they do or not, this is the prompt we will use for our Unit 7 Inventive Writing piece. In this new unit students do not have a source text or even pictures to look at. The KWO is formed by asking yourself questions. Key words for the outline are found in the answer to the questions. This is a skill that takes time to perfect, so you may need to ask clarifying questions during the brainstorming process.
