Math:
Continue doing a 5 min warm-up with the assigned Math fact sheet. If your child has mastered the current fact sheet, move on the next one.
Work through Mental Math 4 & 5 this week.
Objectives:
1. Understand the concept of multiple.
2. Relate the concept of factor to multiple.
3. Determine if a whole number is a multiple of a 1-digit number
4. Find common multiples.
5. Multiply a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number.
6. Divide a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number.
Please complete all the work assigned for home days, including workbook and practice exercises, as well as math facts practice. Please grade all work by first indicating which answers are incorrect and then giving your student an opportunity to correct his/her mistakes before offering assistance.
Composition
Objectives:
- Insert "ly" words correctly into sentences.
- Take notes on the main ideas in a fable, creating a KWO.
- Make up a title by repeating or reflecting key words.
Reading
Objectives:

Science
Objectives: Learn about the composition and properties of water.
Your student will be making their own dictionary of terms through the course of this study. Most definitions can be found in the Usborne Science Encylopedia's glossary, all are in the readings. It's up to you how you want your student to obtain the definition: you can choose to dictate the definition or you can have them look up the terms in a dictionary. They are to write out each definition on the vocabulary page of their science journal.
Here are this week's terms. These are a guide. Your student's definitions don't need to be word for word.
Hard Water: Water that contains minerals from rocks it has flowed over.
Memory Work: Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.
Poetry: Our first quarter poem is "The Father's Vineyard". A copy was placed in your student's binder. Additional copies here.
