Objectives:
1. Know that Chairman Mao brought Communism to China in 1949.
2. Identify unjust laws in South Africa during Apartheid.
3. Know that the Cold War was a conflict between the US and the Soviet Union fought without weapons.
4. Know that the Korean War resulted in the country being divided into Communist North Korea and democratic South Korea.

Geography: We are beginning our study of Scandinavia this week. The song and map can be found here on the main blog curricula/geography page. Students will be responsible for labeling countries on a map. A word bank is provided.
History: Continue your memorization of the US Presidents. There are several YouTube video songs to help
with this. Here are two: US Presidents to "America" and US Presidents. For assessment, students will write or sing all the presidents' first and last names.
