Math
Challenge packet: Students are to write the number of cubes used in each diagram. On the third page, write the number of cubes added or subtracted. You may use unit cubes to build the models as needed.

Here are some additional cube math games and math videos to practice math skills learned this year. Optional Math Games

Objectives:
1. Interpret 2-dimensional drawings of unit cubes
2.Determine the number of unit cubes used to make a solid
3. Build solids from models drawn on isometric dot paper
4. Visualize new solids formed by adding or removing cubes

Spelling
Objective: Spell words with the sound of /er/ as in journey

Writing
Please scan or send me a picture of your "Great Bear" Final Draft by Wednesday.
You can send me a picture of your "Milky Way" RD to check, or co-teachers can check using the composition checklist. Final Draft is due 4/22/20.

Objectives:
1. Write KWO's from three source texts
2. Write a fused outline from the three KWO's
3. Write a RD paragraph from fused outline which includes dress-ups: -ly, who/which clause, www.asia, because clause, strong verb, quality adjective, prepositional opener, adverb opener & Very short sentence

Reading
Objectives:
1. Practice reading fluency and comprehension skills
2. Learn about living life in the wilderness

History
Note: Here is another optional video about Tiananmen Square. Parents should preview first.
Objectives:
1. Know that during the Cultural Revolution of 1966-1976, every part of Chinese culture had to praise Mao & his policies
2. Know that in 1989, thousands of students protested together in Tiananmen Square wanting democracy.
3. Know that life in East Berlin was hard until the fall of the Berlin Wall

Science
Objectives:
1. Present findings on bird of choice 
2. Learn about egg incubation, development and hatching

Birds will be active and looking to nest over the nest few weeks. Here is a wonderful publication from Texas Parks & Wildlife which gives a lot of information about Texas birds and how to identify them. There's also coloring pages, facts, and fun activities which will aid in your bird study.
