Bible reading. Our Character virtue this month is Loyalty.


Math  Please work through Mental Math 5 this week.
Objectives:
1. Estimate differences for decimals.
2. Use mental math strategies to add or subtract decimals close to a whole.
3. Solve word problems involving addition or subtraction of decimals.
4. Practice skills.


Spelling
Objective:
1. Learn to spell words containing the sound of /oo/ spelled ui
2. Spell words with the same plural and singular form.
 
Grammar
Objectives:
    1. Write an original P1, P2 and P3 sentence
    2. Learn quotation rules for beginning and ending quotes.
On lined paper, write an original sentence for each of the sentence patterns learned so far:
P1: SN V
P2: SN V-t DO
P3: SN V-t IO DO
Of course you are encouraged to add other parts of speech giving details and information, but each sentence must include these elements.
    
Composition
Objective: Write a polished story using  pictures as prompts


Reading
We are finishing The Good Master this week.  Please complete the assigned reading and bring your book to class each day.


Latin
Objectives:
   1. Memorize masculine, feminine and neuter adjective endings
   2. Know that adjectives and nouns match the nouns they describe in gender, number and case.
   3. Memorize Ch 11 vocabulary


History
Objectives:
1. Know that Jim Elliot, a martyred missionary to Ecuador, made an important impact on world missions.
2. Know that nations around the world signed the Antarctic Treaty in order to preserve the continent for scientific research.

Science
Objectives:
1. Assess sound memory work
2. Experiment with balance and gravity


Memory Work:  Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.
History: We are beginning our memorization of the US Presidents.   There are several YouTube video songs.
Here are two: US Presidents to "America"  US Presidents  For assessment, students will write or sing all the
presidents' first and last names.  Due 2/20/18.
Timeline Song minutes 6:20-8:20 Due 3/6     
Poetry:  Our third quarter poem is "In Christ Alone". Due 2/27.  These lyrics are set to music and you can find numerous renditions online. Here in one. In Christ Alone Additional copies of the poem here.
