On Wednesday, October 31st,  your student is allowed to dress in costume as a historical figure from our history time-period (Civil War to the Present). 

Discipleship:
Objective:  Experience the joy of the Lord which comes from spending time in His presence.  
Start your homeschool day with prayer and Bible reading.  Our Character Virtue of the month is Attentiveness. 
Kids of Integrity has wonderful resources to aid you in developing this virtue in your child.

Math:
Continue doing a 5 min warm-up with the Math fact sheet of your choice.  
Work through Mental Math 15-16 this week.
Objectives:
1. Express objects as a fraction of a set.
2. Find the number of objects in a fraction of a set.
3. Multiply a fraction and a whole number where the product is a whole number.
4. Multiply a fraction and a whole number where the product is not a whole number.

Please complete all the work assigned for home days, including workbook and practice exercises, as well as math facts practice. Please grade all work by first indicating which answers are incorrect and then giving your student an opportunity to correct his/her mistakes before offering assistance.

Spelling
Objectives:
1. Learn to spell words with or in an unaccented syllable.

Composition
Objectives:
1. Write a three-point expository paragraph.
2. Create a story sequence outline including the setting, conflict, and resolution.
3. Write a polished final draft of Theseus myth, complete with dress-ups.

Reading  
Objectives:
1. Spend 30-45 min of independent reading per day
2. Engage in meaningful discussion over assigned text

Grammar
Objectives:
1. Review irregular verbs.
2. Assess previously learned material.

Latin: 
Objectives:
1. Review 2nd Declension (masculine) nouns 
2. Review 1st Declension (feminine) nouns

History
Objectives:
1. Study Billy Graham's life and the impact he made around the world.

Science
Objectives:  
1.  Know that heat is a form of energy that flows from one place to another because of a difference in temperature.
2. Experiment with heat.
3. Assess simple machines 

For Thursday's science assignment, choose one or more of the following activities following the directions sent home Wednesday.  Record what you did and your results.  You will share your findings on Monday.

2. How Heat Travels in Water and Air
3. Fun with Ice and Salt & Fun with Ice Cubes
4. Degree and Calorie


Memory Work:  Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.
