Discipleship:
Objective: Experience the joy of the Lord which comes from spending time in His presence.
Start your homeschool day with prayer and Bible reading. Our Character Virtue of the month is Faith.
Math:
Continue doing a 5 min warm-up with the assigned Math fact sheet.
Work through Mental Math 9 this week.
Objectives:
1. Assess previously learned skills.
2. Practice multiplication, division and bar modeling.
3. Identify equivalent fractions, know how to compare fractions, and put fractions in simplest form.
4. Add like fractions.
Bar Modeling: Bar modeling is a key component of problem solving. We will now do a practice "Bar Model of the Day" each day at school along with our normal math facts and mental math warm-ups. If you have not watched the bar model training videos on the blog under resources, they will be beneficial in assisting your student.
Please complete all the work assigned for home days, including workbook and practice exercises, as well as math facts practice. Please grade all work by first indicating which answers are incorrect and then giving your student an opportunity to correct his/her mistakes before offering assistance.
Spelling
Objectives:
1. Learn words ending in sion.
2. Learn words containing the second sound of th.
3. Learn how to add two suffixes to a word.
Composition
Objectives:
1. Tell the difference between a key word outline and a story sequence outline.
2. Retell a myth using the story sequence outline.
3. Write a title that repeats key words from the final clincher.
4. Learn and incorporate vocabulary words into writing.
Reading

1. Spend 30-45 min of independent reading per day
2. Engage in meaningful discussion over assigned text
