Discipleship:
Objective:  Experience the joy of the Lord which comes from spending time in His presence.  
Start your homeschool day with prayer and Bible reading.  Our Character Virtue of the month is Faith. 
Who is your hero of faith?  

Math:
Continue doing a 5 min warm-up with the assigned Math fact sheet.  If your child has mastered the current fact sheet, move on the next one.
Work through Mental Math 8 this week.
Objectives:
1. Multiply tens, hundreds, and thousands with each other.
2. Multiply a 2-digit and 3-digit number by a 2-digit number.
3. Practice concepts involving multiplication and division
4. Review all previously learned skills, reteaching where necessary
Bar Modeling: Bar modeling is a key component of problem solving. We will now do a practice "Bar Model of the Day" each day at school along with our normal math facts and mental math warm-ups.  If you have not watched the bar model training videos on the blog under resources, they will be beneficial in assisting your student.
Please complete all the work assigned for home days, including workbook and practice exercises, as well as math facts practice. Please grade all work by first indicating which answers are incorrect and then giving your student an opportunity to correct his/her mistakes before offering assistance.

Spelling

Objectives: Learn how to spell multisyllable words ending in ss.

Composition
Objectives:
1. Write a KWO from a source text and retell using only KWO
2. Incorporate who/which clauses into writing
3. Learn new vocabulary and incorporate it into writing
4. Write a RD using only KWO and composition checklist.
5. Write a polished FD of a fable

Reading  
Objectives:
1.Spend 30-40 min of independent reading per day
2. Engage in meaningful discussion over assigned text

Grammar

Objectives:
1. Incorporate prepositions, objects of the preposition and prepositional phrases into original sentences.

Latin: 

Objectives:
1. Review previously learned Latin vocabulary
2. Know that Latin nouns have number, gender and case

History
Objectives:
1. Know that Theodore Roosevelt helped the US gain a decisive victory in the Spanish-American War in 1898.
2. Know that the Progressive Era brought about numerous social changes in the US.
3. Know that the Progressive Era established a precedent of government involvement in social issues.
4. Create memory pegs by memorizing key people, events, locations and dates throughout the course of world history.

Science

Objectives:  
1. Understand the 1st Law of Motion
2. Know that inertia is the tendency of objects to resist a change in their movement.
3. Know that momentum is a measure of an object’s tendency to continue moving.

Definitions:

Memory Work:  Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.
