Reading
Continue reading a classical book of choice.  Pace yourself to finish the book this week.  Complete and score one reading narration if not completed last week.  Only one narration is required for this "choice" book.  Next week, we'll begin reading Number the Stars.
Composition
We'll complete our final draft of "The Ugly Duckling" and begin Unit 6.  Students will learn to write a report by summarizing multiple source texts and then fusing the notes into one outline.
Spelling
We will review the spelling of words containing the sound of /oo/ spelled ui, and words with the same plural and singular form.
History
Students who are due to create a timeline figure are listed in red in the above table after the lesson number. The following class day, they will show the class the figure, tell  2-3 important points about the lesson, and place their figure on the classroom timeline.
