Math

Objectives:

1. Divide tenths and hundredths by a one-digit whole number.

2. Divide decimals to hundredths when the quotient has a different number of decimal places than the dividend.

3. Practice dividing decimals


Spelling

Objectives:

1. Spell words with ar in an unaccented syllable.

Grammar

Objectives:

1. Identify regular and irregular verbs. 2. Know past, present and future simple tenses for common verbs. 3. Change verbs to different tenses in a paragraph.

Writing

1. Create a fused KWO from two source texts
2. Brainstorm dress-ups and study vocabulary words
3. Write a RD paragraph using fused KWO
4. Edit & write polished FD with Unit 6 structure and style

History 

Objectives:

1. Explore the role the Cold War had on the Cuban Missile Crisis
2. Know that American President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 in Dallas, TX
3. Know that Martin Luther King Jr. started the Civil Rights movement to strive for integration and equality through non-violent protest.
4. Interview someone who recalls the Vietnam War and share some of their memories with classmates.

Science
Objectives:
1. Review types of nests 
2. Learn about the courtship rituals of birds
3. Identify the parts of an egg

Students will be making a field guide of Texas birds using pictures from the Texas Parks & Wildlife publication.  For coloring accuracy, search birds here:  https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/


Memory Work:  Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.

Poetry:  Our  fourth quarter poem is 'The Dentist and the Crocodile". Additional copies here.

Geography:  We are beginning our study Scandinavia this week.  The song and map can be found here on the main blog curricula/geography page. Students will be responsible for labeling countries on a map. A word bank is provided.

History: We are continuing our memorization of the US Presidents. There are several YouTube video songs to help

with this. Here are two: US Presidents to "America" and US PresidentsFor assessment, students will write or sing all the presidents' first and last names. Due 5/6/21
