Please join us for our monthly "Co-Teacher" (aka: Parents) Training session THIS Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 9-10am in the sanctuary. The session will be presented by Carol Brazill (Professional Development Coordinator) and Kristi Martin (Team Coordinator/Academic Support Coordinator). We will be discussing the importance of summarizing and how to use this skill across different subjects. Summarizing can be used as early as Preschool and can help students of all ages. Math
Objectives:
1. Find complementary angles
2. Measure and draw angles greater than 180 degrees
3. Identify and construct perpendicular lines
4. Identify and construct parallel lines

Spelling
Objective: Spell words with the sound of /e/ spelled ei and more words with silent E

Writing
Objectives:
1. Create a KWO using the "Summarizing a Reference" structural model
2. Correctly use the topic/clincher rule
3. Write a 1-paragraph report about swans
4. Correctly use new vocabulary words: majestic and graceful
5. Incorporate a quality adjective to replace banned words: big/small

Grammar
Objectives:
1. Practice with capitalization rules
2. Review punctuation rules

Latin
Objective:
1. Memorize the 2nd Declension noun endings.
2. Memorize new Latin vocabulary
3. Translate simple sentences

History
Objectives: 
1. See God's hand in the history of China
2. Learn about the ministry of Hudson Taylor, missionary to China
3. Learn about the war between Russian and Japan
4. Learn about the life and impact of Albert Einstein

Science
Objectives:
1.Observe an ant colony
2. Complete insect collection and present to classmates
3. Identify similarities and differences between bees and wasps

Complete your insect collection and bring it to school on Wednesday. You will need to have 10 different insects, all labeled with the Order, name of insect, date, and location.

Memory Work:  Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.
Poetry:  Our first quarter poem is "Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening".  Additional copies .here.
Geography:  We will begin our study of Western Europe this week.
