Discipleship
Objective:  Experience the joy of the Lord which comes from spending time in His presence.
Start your homeschool day with prayer and Bible reading.   You may want to read the assigned Bible passage to
your student and discuss, or they may read it independently.
Note: Parents may want to preview Thurs. Bible reading before assigning to your student.

Math
Objectives:
1. Divide by 10
2. Solve word problems of up to 3 steps.
3. Practice concepts involving multiplication and division.

Start with 5 min of multiplication practice using Facts Practice F.
1. Set the timer for 5 minutes.
2. When the five minutes is up, if your child has not finished, please mark the place where he/she left off, and they have
the student finish the sheet.
3. Parents, please use the key sent home to check your child's work.  Have him/her make any corrections.
4. Turn the sheet in as homework on the next school day.  I will take it as a homework completion grade.

Parents, if you haven't already, please watch these videos to aid you in teaching Singapore Math.  The first one is especially
helpful in demonstrating using base-10 blocks (or a white board) to model long division.

Grammar

1. Identify predicate words located in the complete subject.
2. Practice writing sentences containing a subject noun, verb, adjectives and adverbs.

Science

2. Identify factors that affect the rate of evaporation.
3. Know that surface tension is caused by the sideways and downward attraction of a liquid's molecules. This week's Definitions:
Density: a measure of the amount of matter in a substance compared to its volume
Surface Tension: a force that pulls together molecules on the surface of a liquid

Memory Work:  Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.
Poetry:  Our first quarter poem is "The Father's Vineyard". Additional copies here.

Science:

Matter Poem
There are three states of matter
Solid, liquid, gas
We'll begin with the latter
This test you can pass

A gas has no shape

It's molecules bounce all over the place
Gas tries to escape
Far out into space

A liquid moves freely

It's molecules can flow
They fill your glass easily
From place to place they go

A solid is firm

It's molecules locked in tight
There's no room to squirm
Try as a solid might
