Discipleship
Start your home school day with prayer and Bible reading.  This month's character virtue is perseverance, this week focusing on diligence.  Read Proverbs 4:23, Roman 12:11, Eph 4:3 and 2 Tim 2:15.  What are some areas mentioned in which we are to be diligent?


Math:  
Objectives:
1. Review conversion of measurements
2. Multiply and divide length, weight, volume, and time in compound units.
3. Review and practice multiplying and dividing decimal numbers.
4. Practice word problems involving decimals.

Reading 
Objectives:
1. Your student should aim to read for 30-40 minutes each home day.
2. Your student should write a 4-6 sentence summary (narration) that demonstrates comprehension of the book he/she is reading.   
Composition
We have a simple introduction to Inventive Writing (Unit 7) this week.  This is merely a starting point.  Your student will explore this much more in depth in 5th & 6th grade.  
Objective:  Write a 1-paragraph prompt-based composition.

Spelling
Objectives: 
1. Students will learn to spell words with the word ending in /awt/ spelled ought.
2. Students will learn to spell words with a followed by l.  
       
Grammar
Objectives:
1. Students will learn how to write a thank you note.
2. Students will learn how to write an invitation: who, what, when, where, "whipped cream".
3. Students will be able to identify the parts of a book: title page, copyright page, preface, body, table of contents, appendix, glossary, bibliography, index.      

History 
Students who are due to create a timeline figure are listed in red in the above table after the lesson number. The following class day, they will show the class the figure, tell  2-3 important points about the lesson, and place their figure on the classroom timeline.
