Discipleship:
Objective: Experience the joy of the Lord which comes from spending time in His presence. Start your homeschool day with prayer and Bible reading. Our Character Virtue of the month is Joy, this week focusing on Faithfulness.
Math:
Objective: Review and assess previously learned skills re-teaching where necessary.
Composition:
Objectives:
1. Correctly use the “because clause” in sentences.
Reading: Please read a classical book of choice over the Christmas break.
Grammar:
Objectives:
1. Know how to correct a run-on sentence multiple ways.
2. Classify sentences that include direct objects.
Please administer the copy of the grammar test sent home on Monday and score in red pen.
Spelling
Objective: Spell words with the sound of /z/ spelled s.
Step 14 spelling test was returned on Monday. Please have your student correctly rewrite any misspelled words five times and return it to school on Wed.
On Thursday, administer Assessment 2 of the FA Classical Phonics Assessment and return it to school after the break.
Latin:
On Wednesday, students will be assessed on the verb conjugation endings, and the noun/adj endings.
Listen to Latin chants daily to aid in memorization.
History
Objectives:
1. Know that Mohandas Gandhi advocated for a peaceful independence from British rule in India.
Memory Work: Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.
We are continuing our memorization of the US Presidents. For assessment, students will write all the presidents' first and last names. Due 2/21/18. If you'd like to make flashcards, here are some president picture memory cards.
